Important information for cloud service users

https://app.seafile.de has changed to https://app.syncwerk.com and https://app.syncwerk.de. On this page we'll explain how you change the configuration in your desktop and mobile apps to remain connected with the correct service.

Seafile GmbH has become Syncwerk GmbH

After our rebranding from Seafile GmbH to Syncwerk GmbH on March 29th 2017 our web domains have changed as well. *.seafile.de will become *.syncwerk.com or *.syncwerk.de. On June 30th 2017 the web domains seafile.de and seafile-server.de will be transferred to 北京海文互知网络技术有限公司 "bei jing hai wen hu zhi wang luo ji shu you xian gong si" in China.

Caution: All emails sent to eafile.de or @seafile-server.de addresses after June 30th will get delivered to the wrong recepient. Please make sure to change all of our email addresses as mentioned above before that time.

Server address for the cloud service

Since March 31st 2017 all users of our cloud service have to change the server address they connect with in their desktop and mobile apps. It has changed from https://app.seafile.de to https://app.syncwerk.com .

Without changing the server address in the configuration of the desktop and mobile apps, it will no longer be possible to sync data with our cloud service. After June 30th 2017, when we no longer have control over the seafile.de domain, confidential information might also be sent to the wrong recipient.

These are the necessary steps to change the server address in your desktop and mobile apps:

Microsoft Windows Desktop App

  1. To change the server address in the Windows Desktop App, please first click on your profile picture.
  2. Move the cursor over the account for which you want to make the change.
  3. Now click on "account settings" in the context menu that just opened.
  4. A popup window will now open in which you can change the server address. Here you need to enter https://app.syncwerk.com and confirm the change by clicking on OK.
  5. That's it. You are now connected to the right server again.

macOS Desktop App

  1. To change the server address in the macOS Desktop App, please first click on your profile picture.
  2. Move the cursor over the account for which you want to make the change.
  3. Now click on "account settings" in the context menu that just opened.
  4. A popup window will open in which you can change the server address. Here you need to enter https://app.syncwerk.com and confirm the change by clicking on OK.
  5. That's it. You are now connected to the right server again.

Apple iOS App

  1. Changing the server address is currently not possible in the iOS App. Please choose "Add a new account" instead. Then choose https://app.syncwerk.com as your server address.
  2. After the new connection has been established, you can now delete the old account that connects with https://app.seafile.de.

Google Android App

  1. To change the server address in the Android App, please click on the "Three-dots-menu" and choose "accounts".
  2. Keep tapping on the account that connects to app.seafile.de until a modal pops open with the "edit" option.
  3. Now change the server address to https://app.syncwerk.com in the next window. You might also have to re-enter your password.
  4. Confirm your changes by clicking on the "Connect"-Button.
  5. That's it. You are now connected to the right server again.
